What could have been a tragedy has turned into a miracle. The morning of August 23rd our little Isabella Love was found in a pool. Her wonderful and brave nanny performed CPR on her for 25 minutes until the ambulance arrived. The ambulance rushed her to the Stollery Children's Hospital emergency room. When she arrived she had a heartbeat and was breathing, but very weakly. They immediately put a breathing tube in her and she was moved to the Peds ICU. It was a bit of a roller coaster, she developed a lung infection, went through septic shock and numerous failed attempts to breathe on her own. She had an MRI on Monday, August 28th, which revealed a very minor swelling of the brain that may go unnoticed because it is so mild and the area of the brain it is in. She was able to get the breathing tube out the night of August 28th. We are still in the process of withdrawal as she was on some pretty heavy sedatives.
She is doing very well and it seems every day she is more like herself. We cannot express the gratitude we feel for the amazing love and support we have received from family and friends.
James and I both work solely on commission and neither of us have been able to concentrate on working since the incident. We want to be by Bella's side and support her as she goes through this. It would be wonderful if we could say we have a savings account for the unexpected but we don't and there have been unforseen costs incurred due to this incident. With us coming up to 2 weeks of not working we are humbly asking that if you can help us out financially we would greatly appreciate it. We want to continue to give her our undivided attention and work with her as she comes back to us fully.
We are so grateful for the love and thoughts from everyone!
