Get Annika some wheels!

This is my friend Annika.

Annika is one of the funniest, kindest and overall downright awsomest people I am lucky enough to call my friends. She is a crazy catlady, a secret punker, my fellow live-music-obsessive, a great baker and a wonderful Primary School teacher. That's the Annika you meet at first glance. But behind the scenes, she has been battling with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, also knows as CFS, a chronic illness that has basicly knocked her out and left her stranded on her own sofa for most hours of the day.
Unlike me or you, Annika can't cycle into town for a beer or two. She can't actually cook her dinner, after she's come back from the supermarket with two heavy bags of food that she dragged home. She can no longer punch grown men out in a hardcore metal-pit at a concert; instead she needs to sit down and watch other people do the moshing for her. And last, the very worst of it all: she lost her dream job, because her illness prohibits her from teaching all day, running after and playing with small children who actually would greatly benefit from having a role model like Annika in their life.

As you can imagine, sitting at home all day, mustering the strength to cook yourself some dinner, is not exactly the life I or any of her close friends and family wish for Annika. Sadly, it's the reality, as going out and being amongst people is not as easy as it once was. To top it off, the Dutch government only sponsored Annika with a wheelchair for 6 months, and those have come to an end before we knew. Annika is once again stuck at home and this is why she needs our help!

THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN!
With an average of 250 Facebook friends each, we, Annika's friends and family, and our friends, can make a difference!
If everyone would donate as little as €2, we could buy Annika a state of the art, fancy smanzy, ACTUALLY COMFY (!!!) wheelchair. Those can cost up to €2000, so we'll settle for a middle-class one, let's think of it as a 2-wheeled Volvo, and hell, we'll throw in some plastic flowers and Christmas lights too, as a plain wheelchair is just boring.

Annika has not and would NEVER ask anyone to spend their money on her - but since the girl is unemployed and pretty much living like a hermit, this is the least I can do for her.

If you want to volunteer and actually take Annika out for a spin, all the better. Free tip: the girl loves beer, rockers and a good cake. You didn't hear this from me ;-)

Now, don't let me keep you, you have money to spend and karma points to earn.
Thankyou.
