Annie's Cancer Cure Bills

Donation protected
Hey Everyone!
This is Annie's friend Amanda telling you Annie's story and how you can help. When someone gets told bad news, I think many people want to help if they can. So here we are!

So this whole thing started when Annie went to the ER on July 7 after waking up in the middle of the night with an intense migraine, weakness, loss of speech, and swelling in her neck and left arm. Obviously this isn't normal, but at the time these looked like "stroke like symptoms." After a bunch of tests that night, there was no stroke. However, they found 3 large blood clots sitting in her jugular vein and other small blood vessels. They also found a mass the size of her fist located right above her heart in her left upper chest.

Not only was she admitted into the hospital but as you can imagine the short phrase "you have cancer" would rock any 29 year old's world. Biopsies concluded a diagnosis of Primary Mediastinal B-Cell Lymphoma. PMBCL is a rare type of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma that predominantly affects women in the 3rd and 4th decades of life. So the docs said she has 6 months of 96 continuous hour chemotherapy infusions. The "continuous" part means she has to dance with an IV pole for 4 days in the hospital and try to avoid getting nauseated.

It is becoming apparent that the medical bills are going to pile up high and fast. Annie was accepted into the NYU Dental Hygientist program where she was supposed to start at the beginning of the fall term. In an effort to save money for tuition, she forewent the option of health insurance at her job (hindsight is always 20/20). She is unable to work due to her treatments and has no source of income. The hospital told her dissability through the state would take a minimum of ONE YEAR to approve. Her Doctor estimates the total cost to be close to $350,00.00. She applied for Medicaid and is waiting for approval. While she has been extensively searching for grants, help from the cancer center and any outlet of assistance, the costs of her chemo medications already outweigh any forms of aid that may come in. Along with all your thoughts and prayers, if you can help by giving financially it would be so greatly appreciated.

Annie's contagious smile, positivie spirit, and passion for life will be her biggest assests as she embarks on this journey and kicks this cancer in the butt.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
