Memorial Fund For Pierre Walton

Donation protected

Last night Pierre gave up his fight, he fought long & hard, hoping until the end, that he could stay with us just a little while longer. Please keep him, his mom, sister & family in your thoughts & prayers.

As one friend put it "He was a beautiful soul"

Profile picture: Meet Pierre & his mom Annette; I took this picture one day before he gave up his fight. Annette never left his side, whatever it was at home, during a procedure  or in ICU, she always by his side.

****If there is anyone out there that can help by donating - PLEASE do!!! ANY amount of money will help and will be appreciated more than words can express. Also, please help by reposting this page, so that this plea can reach as many people as possible! Any help you can give, would mean the world to this family****

About me: Our families have been friends for almost 14 years; we met on a military installation running errands (both of our family's are retired military). In some ways we are as close to family as you can be without being actually related.

Reason: I originally started this page to raise money to help ease my friend's financial worries, to give her the chance to care for her son without the additional stress. But now, unfortunately, it turned into a quest of trying to figure out how to pay for his funeral.

Read the original write up below:

Annette's background: Annette is a cancer suvivor (renal cell carcinoma - 5 years cancer free) and was married for 26 years. She is now a divorced mother of two, grandmother of one & has been working for the same employer for 30 years.

Pierre's Background: Pierre is 28, single, no kids, has a girlfriend, had a fulltime job he truly enjoyed & was a very healthy, active, nice & polite young man.

Last year (July) Pierre, at the age of 28, was diagnosed with a rare & aggresive form of cancer (synovial sarcoma) and is now fighting for his life. He received intensive inpatient chemotherapy, numerous blood transfusions and was frequently hospitalized; including treatments for a blood clot and neutropenia. Unfortunately, the cancer has now spread to his lungs and bones. He recently started his 1st round of radiation treatment (1/15). The goal is to try and relieve some of the pain the growing cancer causes.

Pierre is now mostly bedridden and completely dependent upon his mother (Annette) for all of his care. This includes daily injections, dispursing pain medications, meals, hygiene...Annette is the sole    caregiver for Pierre, but she also carries the full financial responsibily (one income family now). She has used all of her leave hours, and while friends and co-workers have been generously lending support (leave and monetary donations), this will soon run out and she will enter into a non-paid status. Bills are adding up, which adds additional stress to an already extremely sad and desperate situation. This family needs our help!

Please help me grant Annette the opportunity to spend as much time as possible with Pierre, without having to worry about anything else except caring for her son.

Funds will be used for: Rent, electricity, groceries including things like Boost/Ensure for those days where Pierre can't keep anything else down, or for that occasional request for something special to eat, something he craves (on a good day). Getting to all of his appointments uses up lots of gas, so filling up the  tank is getting crazy expensive; lots of his  appointments are in Seattle, which, with good traffic conditions is about a 2 hour round-trip. Thankfully, all of his other appointments (Radiation, PET scan's, X-ray's, etc.) are now local (Olympia, WA).

So you see, nothing fancy or extreme, just to cover the normal, monthly expenses (now a struggle) of everyday living, while she cares for her very sick child; and even though he is 28 years old, you know he will always be her baby..

Thank you so much for your support and prayers, and please share this page on your social media (FB,Twitter, etc.). Every little bit helps!

Hugs,
Angie
