Annette's Cancer Fight

Donation protected

As you know my mother, she hates asking for help and is a very independent woman, but, as we all know in life, there are times where we need strength and support from others to help us get through the wreckage and the unpredictable.  As of 7/17/17, our family found we need that more than ever.

Our world was turned upside down when we first heard the word "cancer" from our doctor as my mother went to the ER with complaints of stomach pains and yellowing eyes. That word weighed heavy on our hearts and definitely put the strength of our family to the test. No family ever wants to hear a diagnosis of cancer, especially from their strong willed and healthy mother. Pancreatic cancer was the official diagnosis, and chemo/radiation along with surgery down the road when the tumor shrinks is in the upcoming months. Because of my mother's strong determination and her healthy mind and body, doctors say she shall prevail but continuing a positive mindset will be essential. Times will get tough, she will have her ups and downs, but I want nothing more than to put her mind at ease and let her focus on her FULL-RECOVERY . My mother is blessed to have aid through her employer to help with medical expenses, but time-off isn't so ideal. Paychecks will be minimal and time-off for treatment will be sporadic and unpredictable. Doctors are forecasting after a couple months she will be very weak and unable to work; total guestimate for treatment time is 6 months then surgery if able including recovery time for that. Many times has my mother already stressed about cutting out groceries and/or bills to afford the upcoming months of treatment, and I hate to see that stress and worry on her body where her main focus should be on treatment and a strong mind and body.

Any help is appreciated, big or small. Funds will be used to pay any medical bills, for treatment, dietary needs, and extra help for expenses that may be unpaid from having time-off. If funds are low for your family as well, support will be the greatest help. Prayers, and even a warm hello or visit when us kids are unable to keep her company during the times when she is weak and is looking for a shoulder to lean on. Doctors had said she needs to learn to ask people for help during treatment because she will need to conserve her energy for her recovery. Although this will be hard for her to accept, she will appreciate any help from her friends and family. Whether its help mowing the lawn, a donation, or an ear to listen, anything will help and is greatly appreciated.

"God allows us to experience the low points in life in order to teach us lessons that we could learn no other way"

This journey already has been a great lesson for us all, you never really know what tomorrow will throw at you and what you will be faced with. Never did we think this would happen to our mother but I couldn't' be more proud of her strong spirits and determination. Any type of donation or helping hand will be of help. Bless you all, we couldn't do this without your love and support ❤
