Annette's Road to Happiness

Donation protected
My aunt, Annette (Net Net) Weimmer, who has been living in Rincon, Puerto Rico for nearly 17 years, who has a heart of gold, the brightest smile and the purest soul. A woman who I've looked up to since I was a little girl in awe of her fearlessness and determination for happiness. What I love about her most is the fact that she is always there to listen to you when you're not having the best day and she will never judge you for living your truth. She also NEVER asks for anything in return. She's selfless.

So, I thought that I could do something for her when she needs it most, without her saying it. To be honest, she will probably hate me for making one of these, but I don't care - she's in great need of all our help.

These funds will be used for the rehabilitation of Annette's life and loved ones that were affected by Hurricane Maria and her local business as a massage therapist (the best massage therapist on the island, by the way).

By life, I mean her car (both front and back windshields are broken/off), her home (had sand and water damage) and general cash for clean water, food (both human and cat/dog food), supplies, etc. And by loved ones, I mean her Rincon family - Hiram, Florie and Gloria who are Net's elder adoptive parents who own Villa Ensenada, have accrued devastating damage in their villas and property as well.

From our minute-long FaceTime calls from the Casa Palma Azul generators, she mentioned that cash is king down there and it's still very much a struggle to create cash flow at the moment. The island is mainly getting attention on the east side due to San Juan being so populated.

My boyfriend, Alex, and I are taking a relief mission to Rincon the first week of December for those who'd like to donate ANYTHING before then!

This support means the absolute world to not just me, but my entire family, my friends turned family and I know for a fact that this would touch Annette’s soul for eternity. Being so far away, I've been trying to figure out ways to help her in this traumatic time, and this is where I'm starting.

I am beyond grateful for you taking the time out of your day to read this. I understand the struggles of everyday life here on the mainland, but I cannot imagine the hardship that the Rincon community is facing right now, especially my Net Net. I felt helpless up until this point, but moves have to be made if we want to walk the Road to Happiness. Puerto Rico se levanta!
