It is with heavy hearts that we have lost not only a great nurse, but a member of our ER family. Annette's primary concern was always wanting to provide for her husband and son.  She was selfless and always putting everyone else ahead of herself.  For those who do not know her, she adopted a son, Christopher, 14 years ago because she had so much love she wanted to share. Annette was Diabetic and was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease a few years ago. Annette required dialysis 3 days a week, and she continued to work full-time never missing a day of work. Throughout her illness, she remained quick witted and funny. Annette wore a shield of armor and maintained a heart of gold. Annette was placed on the waiting list as she needed a kidney transplant. When a kidney finally became available, Annette was so elated.  She quickly found out the kidney was not healthy for transplant.  Annette carried on and would still never complain.  When anyone asked her how she was doing, her response was always the same...."I'm fine".  Her primary concern was giving Christopher the life and love he deserved even if it meant coming to work when she wasn't feeling well. Since April,  Annette has been fighting sepsis  and spent months in and out of hospitals. The infection deteriorated her spinal column leading to a recent surgery to reconstruct her vertebrae. The sepsis and other complications of her disease ultimately became impossible to overcome. On July 20th, Annette passed away leaving her family and friends devastated. Annette's medical bills are astronomical. Please assist Marty and Christopher offset these mounting expenses.
