So I found out about this summer program while researching different art schools sometime this fall. I've been really interested in traveling to Paris for a very long time now, so when I saw that Parsons Paris (a super cool design school) had its own pre-college program for juniors and seniors I got very, very excited. I am kind of all over the place in terms of what I think I want to do with my life, but I've always been really into fashion, and through years of experimentation with different styles, it's become incredibly important in helping me to embrace my true self and project my personality outwardly. In terms of fashion designing, I would really like to make clothes out of recycled and sustainable materials at the lowest possible cost, while also providing fair wages to everyone involved in the process. I would also like to design clothes for different body types and work with models of all different backgrounds.
For this program, I would be spending three weeks in Paris, attending classes every week day at the Parsons School of Design. The classes I will be taking will be covering the steps towards making a portfolio to submit for higher education, as well as teach basic skills associated with sketching and sewing. Over the weekends, we will be taking trips to different museums and landmarks to expand our understanding of the French culture even better. Also, I get some college credit (woohoo)!
I don't expect to fully raise what I have set as my goal, but really anything helps! This money will mainly be covering tuition, airfare, food, and housing. If you want to know more about the program or the organization it's run by, I'll include a link so you can check it out.
Thanks so SO much!
