I am raising money on behalf of my friend Roma, whose sister Anna Alekseyevna Shushpanova has been in the hospital in Moscow, Russia, since December 13, 2017. Anna, who is 26, was hit by a fast-moving vehicle outside of the city.
According to the hospital report (posted in comments section), Anna's skull was fractured in multiple places, and she sustained severe brain trauma as well as a pulmonary injury, among other injuries. She has emerged from a vegetative state, is semiconscious, and is being fed with a feeding tube and is able to breathe with a tracheostomy.
In addition to surgeries, she requires 6-9 months of rehab, which would cost 20,000 rubles ($354) / day, and, like many in Russia, Anna does not have medical insurance, as we do in the States. The financial burden thus falls on Roma, who is a police officer in Moscow, and on his mother.
Anna is currently being treated in the Three Sisters Rehabilition Center in Moscow. A local Orthodox Christian charitable organization has funded her stay there for 21 days. Roma is looking for funding and treatment options for when those 21 days end. I am also researching to see if there are charitable organizations out there that could help pay for Anna's medical expenses and surgeries. Even though this fundraiser will not cover all costs, this GoFundMe gift to Anna's family would be a great help. Please consider donating to help Roma's family weather these medical expenses.
Any amount you can give, funding leads, and/or prayers would be greatly appreciated.
I will keep you all updated.
