Anna's dog Maddie has cancer! Let's support her!

Well where do I start... I inherited Maddy from my daughter who rescued her from being put down because she wasn't adoptable. Being that she was a pitbull mix, at the time, my daughter was a nanny. The family said it was okay if she got a dog. When my daughter brought Maddy home, they said not that dog. So, I offered for Maddy  to stay with me until we could find a family to adopt her. Well, needless to say, I fell in love with her. I  knew I probably shouldn't have  kept her, and I'll tell you that saying, " who rescued who"  is so true!  She has more than rescued me than I her. Maddie is my best friend if someone asks me how I'm doing, their next question is always,  "and how is Maddy?". She's been with me for almost 6 years now and has undergone  two surgeries on her back legs! We have had some challenges together but we have been there for each other always. There are days when I feel like I'm too depressed to get up, but I know I have to because Maddie has to go outside and she has completely changed my outlook on most days.  She is always there when I come home from work and always happy to see me.  It makes me  look forward to going home at the end of the day. Since Maddie's been a part of my life I have learned to be more responsible, I've learned what unconditional love is, and I learn to cook chicken in a crock-pot!! She has just taught me and helped me with so many things I can go on and on, but I think the most important thing she has taught me is love. No matter what I look like no matter what I've done in my life Maddie loves me and I love her! Just like she will do anything to protect me I will do anything I have to, to protect her.
Maddie loves to come to work with me and play with the children. She lets them do whatever they want! They play ball with her, they lay on top of her, they pull her tail and she is so good with the kids!!I love watching her play with the kids at the Long Beach Rescue Mission Lydia house, where I work. I feel as if she can really relate to them!
