This Go Fund me is to help a family whose wife and mother has fallen victim to breast cancer. She has a loving and caring teacher for nearly 20 years and mother of two hockey playing, growing sons. During her teaching career she has helped her students to grow into better people, always going the extra mile and putting in the extra hour to make things happen. No student is ever a "former student." AnnaMarie follows up with them as they grown and blossom and transition to higher levels of education.
Hers is a family of givers and servers. Both her parents and her older brother served in the military; her father and brother reitring after 20+ years. Her husband Dan also helps by helping out by being a member of school site councils and parent groups, stepping in and stepping up to the plate wherever he is needed.
AnnaMarie has a wonderful support system, including a Facebook group of awesome friends and family and is fighting the good fight and winning the battle. However, there are two kinds of support, moral/emotional and financial. She has undergone surgery for the cancer and is now about to undergo chemotherapy. Even in this stressful, scary time she has not lost her sense of humor. When her sister-in-law (who is creating this) offered to knit her a chemo cap she said to make sure it is lightweight yarn, it gets HOT in Arizona!
She is humble and does not want to ask for money, but her family has already had a lot of medical expenses due to their children as well as the usual deductibles on her medical insurance. The cap for her deductibles is $5000 and has already been reached. This means that the family had to pay $5000 out of pocket for her care.
To add "insult to injury" finances also took a hit as both their cars have needed costly repairs. Even in Arizona when it rains it pours and we are hitting Monsoon Season.
Normally, AnnaMarie teaches summer school but this year her position was eliminated due to budget cuts. She had inteneded to find an outside job but was unable to do so because of the surgeries and medical care. She needs $7500 at a bare minimum for to cover medical and living expenses.
