Anna and Amy are Going to Ghana

We have been accepted by Dream Africa Care to help out at a hospital in Ghana for 2 weeks this summer. Dream Africa Care is a non-religious, volunteer mission to bring aid into African countries. As Anna wants to be a pediatrician or emergency room doctor, this should give her an opportunity to observe what is like to be a doctor and the experience we gain while helping out in the hospital will be rewarding.
In the trainings I do for the Center for Human Development, I have taught many people from Ghana over the years. I love their stories about their peaceful, friendly nation and have wanted to go there for years. When we decided to look for a mission we could do, Ghana seemed like the perfect place to start.
We are asking for any donation to help finance our trip. The agency fees are low compared to other missions that charge $3-4K per week. DAC is only $500/per person for the 2 weeks which covers our housing, meals and transportation to and from the airport. They do not cover airfare, which is rather expensive. We are going to fly out of NY instead of Boston, which will save us about $800.
While we researched to be sure we are getting the best deal possible for our mission, this trip of a lifetime is still rather expensive for our family. We are asking for your help. If there is any way you can contribute, it would be greatly appreciated.
If by any chance we exceed our goal, all extra funds will be used to purchase small toys, crayons, coloring books, etc. that we can give out to the children at the hospital. We can not thank you enough for supporting our journey, so we may help make a bit of a difference in someone else's life.
