A year ago, if you told me that Anna would be engaged to a man she met in a Facebook group called "This Cat Is C H O N K Y", I honestly probably would've laughed but.. honestly, totally believed you. Anna has the best sense of humor, so it only seems natural that she'd meet someone in as absurd of a manner as she met Adam.
It's weird, it's wonderful, and it's also complicated. Being a transcontinental couple in the midst of a global pandemic comes with its own unique struggles, as you'd imagine. The two plan to forgo a traditional wedding because of COVID-19 and to cut costs, and they plan to relocate Anna to London.
This is as costly as it is complicated. In lieu of a wedding and bridal shower, I thought supporting Anna and Adam in their new adventure could be a fun way for all of us to celebrate them and their love.
They need help with some practical immigration and relocation expenses, like:
-- Immigration lawyer - ~USD 1,000
-- Spousal Visa - GBP 1,050 ($1,359)
-- Immigrant Health Surcharge - GBP 1,872 ($2423)
-- Other relocation expenses (flights, housing, interim period while she waits to be able to work in England, etc).
We are starting with $5000 because that will help cover the basic expenses, and anything else will be put toward housing, travel, and other unforeseen relocation and immigration expenses that may arise.
This new challenge for Anna and Adam is extremely exciting and I'm so beyond stoked for the life they have ahead of them, and I just wanted to personally say thank you to everyone who loves my little sister and Adam like I do. In the insanity of 2020, it's truly been such a lovely, wholesome experience to watch their love grow and evolve into what it is now.
I realize that we are living in a global pandemic, so it's absolutely okay if you're not able to give financial support. Your support, whether emotional, personal, or financial, is meaningful to the couple and to everyone who loves their story.
