Anji's Second Film - "Find Him"

WHO I AM
My name is Anjini Taneja Azhar. I'm a high school senior from Shoreline, Washington. Ever since I was eight, I've been writing stories and scripts. When I was eleven years old, I began acting for film and television in Los Angeles.  I've lucked out with lead roles in films such as PAPA by director Xiao Zheng, and recurring/ co-starring roles in films and shows such as JJ Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness, NBC's The New Normal, HBO's The Brink, and Netflix's Everything Sucks!. You can see nearly everything I've been in on my IMDB here.

I graduate high school in June 2018 and hope to go to film school for cinematic direction.

WHY FILM?
As I've gone from project to project in Los Angeles and continued writing on the side, I realized my love of film.  I want to be a filmmaker when I get older.

Storytelling through film is the art of seduction when it comes to human emotion. Film motivates us to do things and feel things. To me, this is beautiful, and this is what I hope to practice for the rest of my life.

MY PROJECT/ THE FILM
To build experience, my director's reel, and continuing doing what I love, I'm making a second short film titled "Find Him."

"Find Him" is a short film about a young boy who refuses to accept the death of his father, who passed away on duty for the Navy onboard a ship. It's a story about the young boy and his journey to accept his father's death. This story about humanity is much more intune with the types of stories I'd like to tell.

My last film, "Third Option," had a budget of $5,000. This allowed me to pull off a great production. Third Option taught me so much about directing, and now I'm ready to pull off an even larger-scale production where I can provide my actors with minimal pay, actual costumes, and an organized crew. Here's what the goal budget of $8,500 will cover:
- A more professional crew: cinematographer, AC (assistant camera), gaffer (lighting crew), and sound crew, hair/makeup team
- Paying my cast for their work
- A proper editor
- Sets/ props/ and costumes for my cast so they don't have to worry about providing anything
- Small technical necessities like crafty, PA's, and more.

MY PREVIOUS WORK
In 2015, I began my journey as a director. I wrote, directed, and produced my first short film: a cinematic thriller on eating disorders. I raised $5,000 and built a production with a cast and crew.

The film, "Third Option," was submitted to film festivals across the country, was preselected to the Washington Film Festival in DC, and also granted a title page on IMDB.
