Our sweet Anjee has cancer. Stage 3 lung cancer.
After taking care of her family, friends, and clients in addition to working 60 plus hour work weeks for the past 15 years she needs our help. Her medical bills are insane and she still has to undergo chemo.
In April 2019, Anjee started experiencing back and chest pains which progressed to pneumonia that wouldn't go away. An ultrasound detected a huge mass around her right lung. On June 12 she underwent surgery to remove the mass, which was the size of a fist, as well as the lower lobe and part of the mid lobe. The mass was so huge that they broke 3 of her ribs in the process. The doctor then broke the devastating news to her girls that their mom had stage 3 lung cancer.
On a positive note, her lymph nodes were clear and tests have shown that the cancer hadn't metastasized anywhere else.
On a less positive note, the doctor's believe that Anjee's cancer was caused by exposure to RADON. Anjee has never smoked. Her house was tested after her diagnosis and the RADON levels were incredibly high. RADON is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States and should be taken very seriously. Utah has one of the lowest tobacco-use levels in the US and one of the highest incidents of lung cancer. This is scary. PLEASE HAVE YOUR HOME TESTED ASAP. The kits are very inexpensive and can be bought at Amazon or Home Depot. The average indoor RADON level is about 1.3 pCi/L and anything 4.0 pCi/L and higher should be corrected immediately. RADOVENT in Utah (801-285-9255) heard of Anjee's story and offered to install a remediation system that week at no charge. The owner, Travis Jewel, was amazing and so kind and went above and beyond.
We love Anjee and want her to be around for a long, long time. We also want to lessen her stress during this difficult time. Even though she is back at work we feel it is important that she focus on getting better and spending time with her 4 wonderful daughters.
Please share this with all of your friends and hopefully we can let Anjee know how loved she is.
