Hello Family and Friends, it is with deep sadness that we reach out to you at this time. We are the daughters of Anita Hernandez, and would like to share of the difficult situation we currently find ourselves in.

Our Mom started feeling ill a few short months ago with symptoms of extreme fatigue and loss of appetite so she decided to go see her doctor.  On August 31st we received the devastating news that Mom has stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer in the liver that spread from her prior breast cancer 7 years ago. At that time, we were told that this aggressive cancer is not curable but was treatable. Our Mother spent 31 days in the hospital. Doctors and Specialist tried to no avail to treat various complications that resulted from the cancer, which included complete loss of appetite, abdominal pain, and pancreatitis. Even though Mom was very weak, the decision was made to proceed with a Chemo Treatment in the hospital and hope for a favorable response.

On September 28th, we received the heartbreaking news from our Mothers' Oncologist that the cancer did not respond to the chemotherapy due to its advanced stage and we were told there was nothing else that could be done for her. On September 30th she was released home from the hospital and is currently in hospice care. Even though this is extremely difficult, we thank God that our Mother was able to return to the comfort of her home and her pain is well controlled.

Due to our Mom being ill she missed numerous days of work which ultimately resulted in her losing her job and sadly with that, her health and life insurance. She had been with her employer for 18 years and always made sure that she and our father were well insured. She never wanted to find herself in a difficult situation, but sadly that is where we find ourselves today.

Our Mom is in her last days of life, and it is with humble hearts that we turn to you for your support. All funds raised will be used towards our Mothers Funeral arrangements. Weather your contribution is monetary or simply by keeping our family in your prayers, we will be forever grateful. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you!
