Anisha's Kidney Transplant

My name is Anisha Addison. I am 36 years old with blood type A+ and I was born with failing kidneys. I was diagnosed when I was 26 with End Stage Renal Disease. I had just run a 2 mile warm-up the day before my diagnosis, so I was in disbelief when I was told that my right kidney never worked and the left kidney never grew; it was the size of a baby's kidney. I had a living donor in 2011 and experienced 5 of the most wonderful years of my life. I started a charity to help child victims of human trafficking in 2013, only to have to put it on hold after I started rejecting the transplanted kidney in 2015. It finally failed completely in December of 2016. Now I am on hemo dialysis and hating every moment of it. I desperately need a kidney tranplant, but cannot afford the 20% of surgery costs - this is after the Medicare payments. I want to live. I want to spend more time with my family. I want to continue to help children who need love and support. I need help. It's easier to ask for a monetary donation than it is to ask for a kidney, but either one would be a blessing.
