Animal Sanctuary Under Threat Of Closure

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Lora. I founded Angelica’s Rainbow Sanctuary in 2016 after I saved a lamb from almost certain death, who in turn saved me from a severe mental health breakdown in which I had become suicidal. I realised that the human / animal bond is a life saving situation and there are so many animals and people out there struggling and at risk. These amazing animals and people need a sanctuary where they can come together and benefit from the healing they can offer each other. So I created Angelica’s Rainbow Sanctuary, named after my special sheep Angelica, where all this could happen.

We have been unable to secure large / government funding as it’s rare to find grants that will be awarded to a non profit that helps both animals and people in need. Many grants only offer support for one or the other cause, but the heart of AR Sanctuary is bringing animals and people together in healing community.

Alongside our animal sanctuary placements for lesser adopted animals in need, we also provide projects, such as youth groups for teens - including those who are disadvantaged or have special educational needs. We take the animals to care and residential homes and day centers, schools and colleges, as well as into the community. We provide training in animal care for youths and disadvantaged adults too.

Our work is vital, having changed and positively impacted many animal and human lives already. Unfortunately, we face uncertainty as we have to move off the site where the sanctuary is currently located in 2022. We must find a new suitable location to house animals such as farm and small animals, poultry and reptiles. This is not an easy task, especially as we desire to remain in the city area of Norwich, where we are accessible to people living in poverty or coming to us from other parts of East Anglia.

In order to rent a field (or a portion of farm land) and build the correct housing for these special animals, as well as being able to offer more sanctuary home placements to other animals in need and continue to carry out our projects which support people in need, we need a minimum of £100,000 up to £800,000

Please check out our website for further information on our cause:

We are also on all the popular social platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

We ask that you please donate as little or as much as you can, so that we don’t have to stop bringing safety, life and love to those animals and people who need it most in our wide community.

Many, many thanks to you x
