WE NEED A VAN TO TRANSPORT ALREADY ADOPTED ANIMALS TO THEIR NEW HOMES IN NORTHERN STATES...
Highway Hounds Rescue & Transport is a Texas based non-profit organization (501c3) dedicated to fostering and finding permanent homes for animals suffering from abuse or abandonment. Highway Hounds is run entirely by compassionate like-minded professionals who volunteer their time and resources to help save the lives, care for these dog and cats and transport to Northern States.
OUR GOALS …
Highway Hounds Rescue & Transport is dedicated to the following goals:
*The rescue of animals tagged for euthanasia at shelters and other facilities in our community and surrounding area.
*Providing foster homes, food and vet care to those in need until transportation date.
*Transport animals to Northern States back into loving permanent homes.
WHAT WE DO…
We team up with local rescues, clinics and shelters to find hope and permanent homes for the dogs and cats considered “disposable”. Together with certified rescues in the northern states, these animals have a foster or permanent home waiting before transporting.
WHY WE DO IT…
According to The Humane Society of the United States over four million cats and dogs – about one every eight seconds – are put down in the US. Sadly, Texas is the state with the highest euthanasia rate. Many of these animals are happy, healthy, adoptable pets that are needlessly euthanized because of the simple fact that they don’t have a home and shelters are overcrowded. Northern State have stricter animal cultures and harsher winters which results in fewer unwanted animals. Highway Hounds works tirelessly to decrease this overwhelming statistic.
HOW WE DO IT…
We do not receive any government funding only by support and donations from private individuals and local companies who care and want to support us with our mission to help the forgotten. Your support means so much and is vital to our purpose. Highway Hounds is dedicated to providing food, medical care, shelter and permanent homes, along with caring hearts & loving arms. Giving each one another chance at life and love.
