Animal Rescue in Need of a New Forever Home

Tax deductible
DunRoamin' Stray and Rescue is looking for the PURRFECT home for their future rescue headquarters!!! We are hoping to raise $50,000 by March 31, 2021 to cover the downpayment for a new building, which will be better equipped with what we will need to continue to help unowned cats and dogs in need from surrounding areas (and beyond!!) who have no one else to be their voice.

Over the past two decades, DunRoamin' has grown substantially, to the point where we have outgrown our current space and now need to relocate. We continue to help hundreds of animals each year and with a new facility, we hope it will provide us with the opportunity to help even more. Not only does this mean more animals can be saved, we will also be able to provide more volunteer opportunities, experiences, and any services that we can make available once we move in.

A new facility will give us the chance to help more animals like Salt, who was a pregnant stray cat live trapped as part of a local Community Cat program and gave birth at her caretaker's home. We would be equipped with a number of specific "suites" for our rescues, including an isolation, urinary diet, general population, and kitten room, to name a few, along with a substantial increase in square footage.

Salt, along with her babies Lowry, Baleine, Morton, Maldon, and Sherpa were all spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and placed in loving homes instead of adding to the stray cat population.

Dogs with stories like "Dog 3", now known as Cricket, would have a facility to properly aid in her recovery while she gets ready for a foster home. Cricket was seized from a puppy mill in 2019 by the NBSPCA and surrendered to DunRoamin' Stray and Rescue to continue with her care and find her a forever home.

With this new facility, we would be better equipped to manage follow-up treatments for animals like Cricket, shortening their time required in veterinary care and supporting a more sustainable model for our operation.

Members of the community will also benefit from this addition to area.  We provide employment opportunities through the SEED program every year and are always looking for eager animal lovers to volunteer, whether it be for fun or to fulfill hours for a specific program. We also have amazing parterships with businesses that provide the public with the "purrfect" unique cafe experience with our rescue cats, while finding them homes at the same time!

These are only a few examples of the potential that a new, better suited facility would hold for us and our rescues here at DunRoamin'. We are looking forward to seeing what opportunities it will bring... with your help!
