We Want to Welcome You with Open Arms & Paws!

Animal Magic Family Pet Retreat opened in 2019, and from the start had an aim of being the ultimate doggy dreamland and perfect place for pets to visit!
Though that goal was quickly achieved, sadly the pandemic and cost of living crisis had a detrimental effect on both the business and my mental health. Amidst thinking of innovative ways to persevere and recover from these effects, I saw that the venue would be equally suited to welcoming people too and went on to open a dog friendly cafe and gift shop in 2023. Not wanting to stop here, I have so many more plans which would prove valuable to the majority of the population of our country.
Monies pledged will be spent on revamping the venue and land, ensuring it is all safe, wheelchair friendly and adapted to allow us to run all proposed services and activities (see below). It will enable us to order stock of our own range of fundraising merchandise, products and promotional goods. We will purchase vehicles to allow us to offer a professional chauffeur service for pets and guests who cannot drive, equipment and supplies for all our activities, launch a national advertising campaign and have enough left to support the monthly running costs for up to one year.
Proposed / Improved Services & Activities:
- Smile Club - a social, development and activity club for those aged 11 and above. Aiming to combat social exclusion, stigmas and loneliness; providing a safe place for people to spend time away from their daily struggles and receive help for the problems they are facing. Smile Club will be available online too.
- Support Groups - for specific issues such as debt support, small business support and grief. Our support groups will also be available online.
- Animal Assisted Therapy - providing sanctuary to unwanted pets, we will care for and rehabilitate them to offer emotional support for people who find benefit from spending time with animals.
- Activities - book club, jigsaws, arts, crafts, flower arranging, chess, board games, ball games, walking, yoga, fitness, music... the list of activities we can run is endless!
- Educational Courses - to include animal care, reading, writing, maths, gardening, cooking, baking, cleaning, business management and many other skills to enable people to get back into work or enjoy a new hobby.
- Parties and Events - to include our Stardust Surprise Party service specifically developed for families on a low income who cannot otherwise afford to host a birthday party for their children.
- Cafe and Bakery - we have an on site dog friendly cafe and bakery which will be open during all our Smile Club and Support Group sessions, and at weekends for walk-ins. We also take orders and bookings for gifting and special occasions.
- Product Sales - our range of Rainbow of Hearts mugs, canvases, note pads and clothing; gift and subscription hampers for people and pets, homemade treats and cakes for people and pets and pet supplies subscriptions.
- Other Services and Activities - along with our existing pet care services, pet bakery and gift shop, we intend to make full use of our venue and therefore increase income potential, running other services and activities such as dog socialisation meets, camping, team building, networking events, seasonal events, life and business coaching courses.
- Animal Magic Family Trust - our community initiative to help pet owners in need with the costs and care of their beloved pets.
- The Great British Advent Appeal - helping those who struggle with the festive season
- The Dog Poo Fairy - our nationwide mission to significantly reduce the horrible issue of public dog fouling.
- National Pet Health Service - something which is desperately needed in the UK to reduce the cost of veterinary care, treatment and supplies for pet owners
- Expansion - next I would like to open similar venues at other locations around the UK!
Being able to offer all these services means that our venue based income potential would be incredibly high - and as we are a Social Enterprise, every penny of the profits will go directly to helping others.
I know that one million pounds is a life changing amount of money. In this case, such an amount will help me to help at least 250 PEOPLE A WEEK from our local area, not to mention the thousands of people and pets our online community and national funds will go on to help in addition (visit our website or see our other campaigns on Go Fund Me for more information - search Rainbow of Hearts). It will also lead to the creation of dozens of job roles, both locally and nationally.
I have been knocked down and got back up again countless times in my life, lived a lifetime of depression, anxiety, bullying, cheating and abusive partners, vindictive friends, the loss of my Mother and love of my life - yet am still here and fighting against the odds. As much as sometimes I wish I could think like a normal person does I have resigned myself to accept the fact that I am the most tenacious and ambitious person you will ever meet - one who is absolutely determined to achieve my goals, sooner or later! Knowing the true potential this venue has and the positive impact it could have on both people and animals is more than enough to make me excited and proud to announce this fundraiser officially up and running.
I hope you too believe in my goals and can pledge as much financial or voluntary support where you can. If you run a business and are interested in a long term partnership, please do get in touch.
