My brother, AJ, is a compassionate animal lover, long time vegan and animal rights advocate, and he is facing the fight of his life. Years ago, he rescued a dog named Romeo, but in reality, Romeo saved AJ from devastating depression. Now, Romeo needs everyone's help to save AJ from brain cancer.
He has severe financial hardship and can't afford the specialized care he deserves. He can't work anymore due to the cognitive affects of the cancer just diagnosed in September. He is struggling to pay for his bills to just live, eat, pay rent and take care of Romeo. The poor in the US have the worst health care outcomes because only those with money can get the best care. The situation is dire and urgent. After he starts chemotherapy, he will need 24 hour care at home, which again, he can't afford.
If you are able to donate any money, it will be used for his basic living needs (shelter and food), his medical expenses not covered by Minnesota Care (which is significant), and any other costs in keeping him at home with Romeo. If there ends up being any excess money, it will be donated to animal advocacy organizations. Please help me keep my brother and Romeo together and at home. Please help me get my brother the best medical care. There is a chance at a cure - but a cure can only happen with enough money.
