Albert Van der Taelen and Vera Wesenbeek run the Animal Love and Rescue Resort. We are in a VERY URGENT NEED OF HELP! Very urgent!
We foster 32 dogs at the moment. Pups, young adults, sick and old dogs.
Every day we get to deal with a lot of animal suffering. The pain in our heart is sometimes unbearable at the situations that we see.
A pregnant female dog wandering the streets, looking for food, for a place where she can give birth to her puppies. Nobody looks back at her, nobody helps her. She searches in trash cans for food, her puppies will be born there. They too become street dogs, who expect the same fate. We try to take
them but that isn't always easy.
A dog gives lots of love to its owner, plays with the children. Then the holiday starts, the dog cannot come along. His owner throws the dog out of the
car and leaves him/her behind. The animal doesn't know why what it did wrong? Why does his boss leave him/her alone?
The family, who once took him/her home, buys a new puppy after the holidays. Or hunters who kill the dogs, sometimes in horrible ways, after the
hunting season. The lucky ones survive or are left alone on the streets.
THAT is animal suffering. THAT is what we want to avoid with Animal Love and Rescue. We cannot save every animal, but those we save get a happy
life back at our Resort, with friends, health care, good food and lots, lots of love. We foster the dogs and are looking for good new owners for them,
owners who will never leave them again.
We give the pregnant dogs a safe feeling so that they can raise their pups with mother love. Happy, playful puppies, dogs that are not in kennels but
can run freely in nature, play, enjoy. A dog's life as it should be. But not only puppies but also mistreated dogs, older dogs, animals that nobody wants.
Due to unforeseen circumstances without our consent, we are in urgent need of help. A lot of help. Normally we need to get out of the property we rent now. There is a water problem under the house the landlord won't repair. So the water is cut off by the Town Hall.
Since April we are out of water. Not a drop. Whit this heat and 32 foster dogs. Every day we go to the next town where there is a natural water well, to fill bottles with 500 liters of water. That is about 40/50 bottles. Every day. To provide the dogs of drinking water, baths to cool of, cleaning of their places, etc. A hard job, but we do it for them. Because they have so much love to give.
We are working on a solution to stay in the house now, soon we will know if that will come in order. Our lawyer will go for that.
Until now, we paid all the costs for the dogs ourselves. Food, medication, veterinarian costs, call it. We never asked for help. Ever. But now it is ne- cessary to place a call for help.
That is why we are in urgent need of donations. We have 32 hungry mouths to feed.
Due to the storms of last year October where a part of the Resort is flushed away, and the new storms of mid-September, we need to rebuild the whole Resort again. Everything. Better and stronger, and better protected against heavy rainfall. We have our own plans for that so that the whole infrastructure is removable. In case we have to leave. We need to build the playgrounds where they can stay in groups, and every group gets a decent wooden chalet to have a nice, warm and dry place to sleep. Our dogs live freely in the gardens, run, play, and are happy. No cages and no bars. Not a
shelter. Only happy four-legged friends.
So we need to find help very soon. Winter is coming and with that the storms and rainfall. At the current moment, the dogs all sleep in the house
during the night. With 32 dogs, that is a lot, and no need to say that is a lot of cleaning too! So the sooner the Resort is rebuilt, the better.
We need a lot of food. One bag of food is 10€, but that is barely enough for one day. We need donations for the vaccinations, the neutralizing of the
dogs, medication, etc. And we need a lot of financial help to rebuild the Resort.

It is only for a short time that we are in a difficult situation. Until we can sort out everything and take care of them again.
