Animal Cruelty Victim: Support John & Angela

Chester, John & Angela’s cat and family member returned home in a quiet neighborhood, with a blow dart embedded into his head. 
Chester couldn’t come home through the kitty door as the dart between his eyes would further get pushed in whenever he tried to push the door open with his head. He made many attempts to get in before John and Angela noticed. When they found out through the surveillance camera they rushed to help Chester. 

They hurried Chester to an emergency vet in the middle of the night. They were referred to a specialist and told the surgery could be $8,000. Without hesitating John and Angela drove down to Katy where Chester could be treated overnight. They learned the dart, thankfully, had missed his brain, and the complicated surgery would not be needed.

Chester is now in recovery and even found the energy to play a bit!

The aggressor hasn’t been found. John and Angela are devastated that a neighbor could be so cruel. They are filing a police report. I am hoping this fundraiser can help them cover the emergency vet bill and help bring attention to this issue so that hopefully the police may take this seriously. 

Whoever attacked Chester was clearly not defending their property or “trying to scare the cat off.” Chester is a social and trusting cat and must have been prompted by the aggressor to get close before they thought it funny or appropriate(?) to blow a dart at his face. 

The abuser may need mental help and it is terrifying it could be any of our neighbors. 

Chester and his adopted brothers and sisters will no longer be allowed to roam in the quiet neighborhood and the kitty door has been shut.
