Animal Assisted Therapy at Rainbow Tree

An opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children..... Rainbow Tree Therapies, LLC out of Hudson, Wisconsin along with a team of Occupational and Speech Therapists hosts therapeutic camp opportunities for children. We support children's development using nature as the backdrop with facilitated activities using music, art, and animals to further development. Often times children with special learning needs don't have many opportunities for summer camp. Rainbow Tree has met this need for the surrounding communities by providing an intimate, safe and supportive environment. Our professional staff brings a wealth of knowledge to support campers! Challenge: Animal assisted support is a big part of our camps. Animals are currently transported to camp instead of being housed at camp. Though we are grateful for all of the animal lovers who have shared their dear animals with us, we are hoping to provide a permanent home for animals here. It has been difficult to maximize the benefit of animal assisted support to all of our campers in all camps. Animals have only been able to come occasionally and for specific camps.
This is a picture of sweet Eclipse who along with owner Michelle came to Rainbow Tree last summer. We are hoping that Eclipse will become a permanent residence at Rainbow Tree!! Yippee!
Support Requested:
We are seeking financial support to provide a permanent residence for animals so that they can be accessible to children in all of our camps. Our goal is to seek support to build a small barn structure, fencing, and a lean-to to house a variety of animals. Research supports that animals improve mental and physical health. Animals can be a therapeutic tool to encourage interaction and engagement, to develop sensory processing skills, to manage anxiety and emotional regulation, to increase communication and language, and to learn about animal care. Building a permanent structure will enable us to provide animal opportunities on a consistent basis to make an even bigger difference in the lives of children year round. We are seeking support to create this opportunity for Rainbow Tree campers. Thank you for supporting this important campaign! We are enormously grateful for your philanthropic donation!
