Angular Limb Deformity Surgery Ace NYBC

Donation protected
Thank you for all who have followed and supported Ace's life in his forever home! Ace was adopted from New York Bully Crew in April 2018 and Born Feb 1, 2018. At 3 months, I noticed Ace's feet pointed outward like ballerina feet. On his 3 month checkup I was told Ace appeared to have dysplasia (not uncommon), & recommended conservative management as long as he was not having symptoms. Ace was started on CBD, Cosequin's Joint Supplement, Tumeric, & Organic Goats Milk. Shortly after Aces 6 month check up in August, I began to notice mobility issues. Ace became much slower than my 5 year old pitbull Eva, unable to play and run for long periods of time, and holding up and licking his foot more often. At this point Craig from NYBC was contacted. Per Craig's recommendation, Ace has been consulted by orthopedic surgeons: Dr. Timothy Schwabb and Dr. Tomas Infernuso. He has been diagnosed with an angular limb deformity requiring correction. The growth plates in his legs have closed early (much worse on the right). As the bone continues to grow it cannot grow straight, causing the bone to deviate and grow in an abnormal way. This is a inherited defect that happened from a pitbull breeding with a small terrier/shih Tzu. Ace is 10 months old, The surgery can only be done while Ace is still growing in hopes to correct/minimize the deformity as he grows. Ace will need an ulnar ostectomy possibly of both legs, and could require a total of 4 surgeries throughout his lifetime. The surgeon will cut a small portion of the ulna bone in his right leg in hopes the bone can grow normally and reduce the deformity. These last two weeks Ace is showing signs of pain, crying in his sleep & unable to run. He is on CBD/ Gabapentin. Due to signs of pain and decreased mobility, Surgery is scheduled for his right leg Wednesday, December 13, 2018. The cost for corrective surgery on one leg is $3,400-3,600. 50% of the total cost of surgery is required that day ($1,750). Ace urgently needs this surgery. Without it, he may have difficulty walking, pain, abnormal posture, as well as bone and joint disease.
Ace is just a puppy, and it truly breaks my heart to see my happy, loving puppy in pain. Thank you to anyone who donates, has followed Ace's story from the start, and has provided continuous love and support.
Thank you,
