Anguilla Irma Relief Fund

Donation protected
It has been overwhelming to watch how Irma and Harvey have devasted numerous communities in the Gulf, the Caribbean, and the Atlantic in a mere few weeks.

I would like to focus the attention of this fund to a particular island community: Anguilla. Unlike the United States, who have numerous resources such as FEMA, AmeriCorps, thousands of local relief nonprofits, places of worship, and national organizations, including the federal government, Anguilla is now facing an uphill battle that will inevitably take generations to win, and they do not have the resources to create a full on recovery. With Hurricane Maria projected to make landfall soon, she is threatening the island as a Category 4. It is imperative to create this relief for Anguillians in the wake of this most recent storm.

The funds we raise together will go towards getting a 40 foot shipping container and filling it with the supplies that the Anguillians themselves have requested. These supplies include generators, repair materials, fasteners, plywood, tarpaulins, sheet metal, towels, bedding, pillows, along with food, water, and medicine, all desperately needed; however, Anguillians are fighting daily to receive provisions in order to feed their families, neighbors, and themselves.

The key will be helping the island regain electricity and acquire fuel. If a few businesses can get up and running, that will make a world of difference for the quality of life on the island.

Our timeline is immediate. We plan on acting as quickly as possible once the funds have been raised to get the container loaded and shipped to Anguilla. The progress of this project will continue to be advertised and updated.

This island has been a part of my family's life for 24 years. We have been welcomed into the homes that have been flattened, onto the beaches that have been devastated, and into the hearts of the Anguillians who have been shaken. Please be a part of this effort to cultivate hope for this incredible place and its people. I would be forever grateful for your support. Thank you.
