Hi everyone,

My name is Joanna, and I’m a senior in high school. This year is my last chance to be part of something that’s meant the world to me my school’s marching band.

A few months ago, my mom left to be with her new boyfriend, someone she had only known for a short time. She took my siblings with her, and I haven’t seen them in two months. I was left to live with my dad, who struggles financially and emotionally. Our home isn’t in good condition, food is sometimes limited, and it’s been really hard trying to stay strong through everything.

Growing up, I’ve seen a lot of fighting and instability, and I thought things would finally get better, but now I’m just doing my best to hold it together since my mom left when i truly needed her the most. Marching band has been my escape. It’s where I’ve found friends who feel like family, and it’s given me something to look forward to when everything else feels uncertain.

Our band has been invited to go on a trip to Florida, and it’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me. The total cost is $1,500, and I have until May 2026 to finish paying for it. I don’t have the support at home to make this happen on my own, so I’m reaching out for help.

Any donation big or small would mean more than you can imagine. It’s not just about the trip, it’s about having something positive to look forward to after such a hard time. Thank you so much for reading my story and for any support you can give.
