Angler Maiden at Bosch Parade - Netherlands
Designed specifically for Bosch Parade in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands, "Angler Maiden" was originally slated to float in July 2021. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic the event was postponed, and is now rescheduled to take place June 16-19, 2022. Named after the famous Dutch painter, Hieronymus Bosch, who once dwelled in this city, the parade theme is, of course, borrowed from one of his paintings: "The Temptation of St. Anthony." Artists and performers alike will join together to create magical and surreal spectacle on the Dommel River which runs beneath its city walls, and also on land in "The Garden of Earthly Delights," which is filled with wonderful art and... hot tubs. Yes, hot tubs. Extraordinary, artful, surreal and unusual looking hot tubs! We are truly excited to have been invited to be a part of this festival!
Bosch Parade is hosting our team and partially funding this project, and most recently this project received an Individual Artist Grant from the City of San Antonio Department of Arts & Culture to exhibit Angler Maiden along our famous Riverwalk by Spring 2023. Your kind donations will assist in several ways, beginning with the expense of shipping the sculpture back to the US, for the cost of container shipping has more than doubled this year. Your support will also help cover expenses related to building Angler Maiden in Holland, mitigate engineering costs and other expenses which will accrue in creating such an endeavor as a floating sculpture with fire effects. We would also like to assist in transporting our incredible fire performers Seraphina and Ms. Jelly to the festival. In addition to all this excitement, negotiations have also been in the works for Angler Maiden to travel to Venice, Italy for exhibition with itsliquid group! Another incredible opportunity and a dream fulfilled!
The new contract has been signed with Bosch Parade. Once we receive a clear go regarding the ups and downs on pandemic restrictions, we will proceed in setting up shop to build Angler Maiden in ‘s-Hertogenbosch by the 1st week of April. The project must be complete by June 9 and be ready to pass floatation tests that week.
Support for this project means a great deal. It will be the realization of a long standing goal of displaying my creative passion with the world while working with other talented artists and performers in the EU.
