Written with love by Tracy Burton:

Angie is a survivor.

I have no doubt she will persevere once again as she fights to heal from a painful accident on July 8th that resulted in multiple fractures and broken bones in her right pelvis.  Unfortunately though, the 10-week recovery period from such a procedure is notoriously challenging for the patient, starting with the first 2 weeks in the hospital and a follow-up surgery at the end of August.  Although she is about as strong as they come, she could really use some love and support right now.  Angie is gainfully employed as a nurse, however in order to heal she is unable to work for 4 months.  Unfortunately though, she has used up all of her sick days for other procedures and is not covered by disability insurance so the months out of work will be without pay which puts added strain on Angie and her family.

I should explain further what I mean by Angie is a survivor.   Angie was diagnosed with cancer when she was 25 years old.  Over these past 12 years, she has survived cervical cancer, vulvar cancer, and uterine cancer.  She has undergone 30 surgeries including gastric bypass which solved some problems but created new complications.  She was diagnosed with Enteric Neuropathy.  None of that has stopped her from raising two beautiful children, working tireless as a nurse for her patients, and brightening the lives of her family and friends.

My hope from this campaign is for Angie to feel the support and love of others around her, as she so often does for others.  I think of the nurses I have encountered and I am forever grateful for the service they provide to others.  Now the tables have turned and Angie needs our support.  For those not in a position to give with their pocket book, please give with love and healing thoughts.

So, can you help a mother out (& you’ll be helping a nurse out too while you’re at it!)?

After all, it is true; we DO get by with a little help from our friends.

A Letter from Angie's Mother,  Brenda Johnson:

My daughter, Angie Johnson, has hit a major medical upset on her life journey. She has weathered most of her medical problems with determination and perseverance. This latest medical issue has taken every ounce of fight she has in her to cope with the pain and the surgery (her 30th). She is very scared and worried about the bills, her kids, her job, and not being there for the doctor she works for, not to mention dealing with pain and learning how to walk again and do things we take for granted.

She has had major health issues since being diagnosed with cancer when she was 25. She has numerous procedures to keep this in check thanks to her doctors who support her through this. She also had a Gastric Bypass to resolve 4 medical issues she had. Those issues were resolved but she ended up with a multitude of other issues. She has had many procedures done to try to resolve these issues to no avail. she still has severe nausea and severe pain whenever she eats so has an aversion to food. She has been doctoring down at The Mayo Clinic and has just been given the diagnosis of Enteric Nueropathy which deals with the nerves in her stomach and intestines and has no cure.

On July 8, 2017 Angie too her two children horseback riding. At he end of the ride her horse was spooked by a car driving past on the road, she got thrown off landing on her right side. She could not move. She was air lifted to North Memorial Hospitals Trauma 1 Center by medical helicopter. There after a physical and various tests and X-rays', she learned she multiple fractures and broken bones in her right pelvis. She has been in intense and excruciating pain ever since, they operated on her and put metal plates and screws in the front and back of her pelvis and a stabilizing bar from her good left pelvis across her stomach over to her fractured right pelvis this will be on for possibly 9 weeks.

She still has horrible pain and is very down.

I know her friends are doing a Go-FundMe account for Angie to help with medical costs, which she is very appreciative of as I am sure this is going to be very expensive. She will be off work for 4 months without pay which will be tough for her. Even if you do not feel you can help in that way your prayers and good wishes would help brighten her spirits!
