Angie's life changed on December 23, 2017.  A visit to Saint Francis Emergency room, surgery several days later and then a diagnosis of Stage IV Mucinous Adenocarcinoma of the Appendix.  Angie has worked for Saint Francis for 26 years. She even works at the Registration desk checking in patients for the Cancer Institute and the Oncology doctor's office.  She is around cancer every day.  She brings joy and hope to others and encourages their patients.  Her co-worker and her have said on many occasions, "We enjoy making people laugh and show love and kindness to our patients and we couldn't imagine being on the other side of this desk".  Well now, Angie is on the other side.  Her cancer is rare.  Appendix cancer is not treated at Saint Francis Medical Center.  Her physician is referring her to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas for evaluation and treatment / surgery / chemotherapy.  The details are unknown at this time as to what will happen and how long she and her husband, Raymond will need to stay there.  They are planning on being in Houston the first part of February. (details to come)   While Raymond is with her, he will not be receiving any income to contribute to the expenses for Houston and monthly living expenses. All donations and extra prayers are greatly appreciated!!
