Angie and Darrell Jackson

Hello, my name is Kayla Jackson. I am Angie and Darrell Jackson’s daughter in-law. I am creating this fundraiser in hopes that we can help ease some of the financial strain that has and will continue to accumulate during this difficult time. Darrell has been Angie’s full time caregiver while also working full time. My in-laws, many know them as Mom and Dad or Gammie and Papa, have gone above and beyond to help others in need and right now they could use some help from us. All of the funds raised will be given to Darrell and used for any medical needs, household bills, and extended stay travel expenses during the transplant process.

Angie was diagnosed with liver disease. She has undergone multiple rounds of Paracentesis to drain fluid, EGDs to treat varices, and 4 attempts at a TIPS procedure. Unfortunately, the TIPS procedure was too risky for her to endure. After the last failed attempt she was put on a liver transplant list. She has battled against swelling, drainage, pain, and encephalopathy. She was transported to the ER yesterday and is currently unresponsive in the ICU. Her vitals have stayed consistently good so we are hopeful! Her doctor mentioned flying her to Piedmont in Atlanta until she can receive a transplant. Darrell is awaiting an update from her doctor on her test results and what they plan to do next.
