Angels of Hope Against Cancer

Donation protected

Angels of Hope was created by Bella Muntean. On 1/13/16, Bella woke up with severe chest pain and ended up in the ER. Prior to this, Bella had a lump on her knee for several months that the orthopedist thought was an athletic condition. We didn't realize it was a cancerous tumor at the time. Bella only had an antibiotic once up to being 12 years old, was healthy and in dance class.

It was confirmed on 1/16/16 that Bella had a rare, aggressive bone cancer called osteosarcoma. The  main tumor in her right leg metastasized to her lungs and there are too many tumors to count and are inoperable at this time. The first thing that Bella said to me was, "Mama, this isn't God's fault." I knew at that moment that her faith would carry her through whatever she would have to endure.

For 7 months Bella was in a wheelchair. On July 26, 2016, the tumor, 90% necrosis (dead), was successfully removed and her leg saved which is now 2/3 prosthetic. This was great news, meaning the chemo was working! She completed 11 cycles/months of chemotherapy. On 1/30/17 Bella had another surgery on her left leg in her knee and ankle on her growth plates. Despite her many challenges and obstacles, Bella never let cancer defeat her, she conquered it and the odds against her!

During both surgeries, Bella was blessed in pre-op to have lovely nurse, Pam Wrobel, who draws angels on the pillowcases of the patients before surgery. Bella took her pillowcase to every hospital stay because the angel gave her so much comfort! Pam is our guardian angel:) and has agreed to be a part of our charity in bringing others comfort and peace through her drawings.

On 12/15/16, Bella's cat scan showed that the lung tumors are densely calcified (dead) and we are praising God! We know that Bella is healed because of the power of prayer! God has blessed the doctors knowledge, chemotherapy, medicine and prayers to heal her.  We are so grateful to her exceptional oncology doctors and staff at GHS and everyone all over the world who has been praying for her. Bella wants to share her testimony, mission and joy with others.

Bella feels led to give back and spread more awareness about childhood cancer. As a parent, you never think this could happen to your child, but we are living proof that it can happen to anyone. Please help spread Childhood Cancer Awareness.
