Baby Julia was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 early in her mom’s pregnancy. Julia’s mom, Veronica and the Garcia family chose life after doctors recommended she terminate the pregnancy. They switched doctors to an OB/GYN who is a Catholic Deacon. Dr. Chavira baptized baby Julia shortly after she was born. After further testing, it was determined that Julia has a sizable hole in her heart which is inoperable until she is 6 months old. As she grows, so will the hole which will cause bleeding. There isn’t much doctors can do at this time. The prognosis isn’t good. The family is praying for a miracle and finding hope in our Lord’s mercy and everlasting love. The family will be moving to Ryan House in Phoenix for palliative care for the baby and their family. Baby Julia is the youngest of five children. 16, 14, 10 & 2!
