Angels for Elise

Donation protected
My granddaughter, Elise Larkin, was born by emergency C-Secion at Lake Norman Regional Hospital On Tuesday Feb 27, 2018.  She was taken by helicopter to Levine Childrens Hospital because she had pulmonary hypertension due to meconium aspiration and a stroke.  Her Neonatologist and team of Dr's and nurses are monitoring her in case of seizures that can occur after a stroke.  Elise is a fighter!  She started out on an oscillator needing 100% oxygen, completely sedated, on morphine because of the invasive nature of the oscillator, on two different antibiotics, blood pressure medication, etc.
She is a week old, and is breathing on her own with a nasal cannula.
I held her for the first time on March 6... there are no words for how that felt.  She squeezed my little finger in her hand.
Her Mother is Alicia Dixon, and her Father is my youngest son, Eric Larkin.  This journey they are on has been traumatic...  the blessing is this amazing little one, Elise.

Eric & Alicia will get training on how to tube feed Elise, because the stroke affected her sucking, breathing, swallowing reflex.  This will be a 3 day intensive session.  The tube will be attached to Elise's belly.  Alicia is pumping her breastmilk so Elise will get the health benefits of colostrum.

Any kindness is appreciated!  All donations will be used to cover medical expenses.
