Angels for Angi Travis

My sister-n-law, Angi Travis, was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer on Monday, 1/22/18.  She had been in and out of the hospital since just before Thanksgiving 2017.  In the beginning she was dianosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH). Then, doctors thought she had some type of meningitis.  She was experiencing severe headaches, blurred vision and pain in her neck and back. These symptoms were caused by her spinal fluid building up in her head, which eventually crushed her optic nerve, causing her to go almost blind.  Medication would be prescribed, fluid drained from her spine to relieve the pressure.  But each time, the treatment applied didn't work.  Now, she has been in the same hospital bed since the 7th of January, and she has a tube in her back that is constantly draining the spinal fluid so that the heart wrenching symptoms dont come back. Her vision is back, and things were looking good. Then January 22, 2018 came and the news was devastating.  "Mrs. Travis, you have a very rare form of cancer that there is no cure for.  You have two choices, opt for no type of treatment and live out whatever time you have; or choose chemo and lengthen your time with family and friends."  Angi chose treatment.  

Thus, this page.  Angi has not been able to work since last November, which is killing her.  The treatment she is getting requires her to go to Shands in Gainesville.  That's 2 1/2 to 3 hours away.  Originally, she was going to be transported via ambulance, but now they have decided to take her via helicopter due to the drain in her back. Joey, her husband, is working as much as he can, which doesn't allow for him to be there with her.  They need each other right now more than ever.

That is why I've asked Joe and Angi if they were ok with setting up this page for them.  As most of you know, the bills don't stop when you get sick and can't work.  They actually increase. As many people know, the cost of an ambulance is expensive, I cannot imagine a helicopter.  My hope is that those that know Joe and Angi would help them be able to pay their bills and to have the money needed for him and Desera' to travel to Gainesville to be with her.
