This is my best friend, Angel. He is 23 years old and will turn 24 on July 9th. He has a medical condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa. He's had it since birth. The doctors here in Stanford say that there is no cure — it’s only about helping him live a little longer. 
 
He became my best friend in my last year of high school. He's sweet, loving, and caring with such a beautiful heart. I would see him sitting alone at school, and I sat with him. We've been best friends since. Today, he is fighting for his life, and I ask everyone for some support. It breaks my heart to see him without his bandages. 
 
Sadly, it keeps getting worse every day. He can barely walk now and is in constant pain all over his body, including inside his mouth and internal organs. His little hands have been so wounded that his fingers have fused together, and the same has happened to his toes. Because of so many open wounds, all his fingernails and toenails have fallen off — he has none left. New wounds continue to form every single day. The special materials he needs to care for his wounds are called Mepitel and Mepilex. We only need those two materials. It's way too expensive. If you help with anything, we would use it to buy that material.

Se convirtió en mi mejor amigo en mi último año de preparatoria. Es dulce, cariñoso y amoroso, con un corazón hermoso. Yo lo veía sentado solo en la escuela, me senté con él, y desde entonces nos hicimos mejores amigos. Hoy, él está luchando por su vida y pido a todos un poco de apoyo. Me parte el corazón verlo sin sus vendas. 
 
Lamentablemente, su situación empeora cada día. Ya casi no puede caminar y sufre un dolor constante en todo su cuerpo, incluso dentro de su boca y en sus órganos internos. Sus manitas han estado tan heridas que sus deditos se le han pegado entre sí, lo mismo ha pasado con los dedos de sus pies. Por tantas heridas abiertas, se le han caído todas las uñas de las manos y los pies — ya no le queda ninguna. Cada día le salen heridas nuevas. 
 
Los materiales especiales que necesita para cuidar sus heridas se llaman Mepitel y Mepilex. Solo necesitamos esos dos materiales. Son muy caros. Si puedes ayudar con lo que sea, lo usaríamos para comprar ese material.
