Angelia Gallimore

A wife and mother of four, dedicated employee, involved in a variety of community functions, playing multiple tennis matches in one day, life of the party, and the sweetest soul and genuine heart you’d ever meet! Suddenly , out of nowhere, your  world is turned upside down.  As most of you know, our dear and sweet friend Angelia Gallimore was diagnosed with Goodpasture Syndrome this past September 2017.  Goodpasture Syndrome is a rare autoimmune disease in which bleeding into the lungs and complete kidney failure occur.  Usually your autoimmune system protects the body from infection, but this syndrome produces antibodies against collagen in your lungs and kidneys.  Upon onset of Goodpasture syndrome, Angelia began aggressive treatments which included multiple medications, plasmapheresis, and dialysis.  She has  spent an enormous amount of time at Duke Hospital and New Hanover Regional Medical Center battling this life altering syndrome.

Angelia’s goal is to eventually have a kidney transplant but for this to occur her body must be completely free of the Goodpasture antibodies for six months. There is light at the end of the tunnel but there are always a few detours along the way.  So Angelia continues to fight this syndrome with unbelievable strength, positivity and grace....a true Wonder Woman!! 

But my friends ,as you know , sometimes it takes a village. Unfortunately, the medical bills are rising and Angelia and her beautiful family are in need.  Please know there is no donation too small and all will go directly to paying medical expenses.  If unable to donate monetarily know your encouraging words and prayers are as powerful.
