ANGELBABY

Hello! This Go Fund Me is to benefit the production of the play "ANGEL BABY" that was written by and will be performed, directed, and designed entirely by New School Undergrads. The funds will be used for renting a performance space and purchasing props and costumes. 

A little about the play: It's a comedy that conveys the importance of sexual health through a ridiculous scenario. Heaven is overpopulated with angels because no birth control exists there. The angels born in heaven, rather than having lived and died on Earth, are discriminated against. The protagonist is an Angel Baby unwilling to have sex because he does not wish the fate of his kind upon another innocent soul.  The story follows this character on his journey from getting kicked out of Heaven due to overpopulation, to finding love on Earth and making the discovery of modern birth control.

We wish to tell this story because it speaks of very real issues of discrimination applied in a ridiculous scenario that is easy for the public to digest. It also addresses the crisis immigrants face when entering a new country after being forced out of their own home and being unwelcome in their new one. In addition, it reiterates the importance of birth control in a society where people exercise sexual freedom.
