Care for my Wife & Son

Donation protected

Hello Everyone...

People say... you have not, cause you ask not! Well, I wouldn't ask for help unless we REALLY needed it! A lot of you know that back in March my wife, Angela McCarthy, mother of two, was diagnosed with a very rare brain tumor known as an Acoustic Neuroma, and had to undergo 20 hours of brain surgery at JFK Hospital in Edison, NJ over a 2-day period. Although the tumor was benign, it was in a very delicate place on the balance and hearing nerves, pushing on her brain stem.  Doctors advised that without surgery, it would have killed her.  Unfortunately, it has left her unable to drive and work, for almost a year now, and with numerous complications. However, I am constantly amazed at what an AWESOME woman and FIGHTER she is!

So how can you help?  I'm asking you to partner with us to help improve the quality of life for my wife.  Specifically, we are raising money to go towards 6 months of childcare along with diapers and wipes for our son. This will aid in my wife's ability to recover and help our family, as we begin our journey in applying for state assistance.  At this point, we only have one income and are finding it near impossible to cover all of the expenses needed for a family of four.

The doctors say that my wife must rest to get better and complete her therapy sessions daily.  In order to do so, our youngest child, Jonathan Jayden, who is 13 months, is in need of full time care. After my wife's surgery, our son was in childcare full time. Then, after a series of unfortunate events, my wife was denied disability and we had to remove him from daycare completely, leaving my wife to care for him by herself. The enormous strain of caring for an infant, in addition to her attempt to carry out daily living tasks, has caused her to have enormous setbacks in her recovery.  Currently, my son is staying home with my wife who cares for him, with the occasional help of a few friends.

As of today, she has gone through lots of rehabilitation & occupational and physical therapy. Although I would say that she has made AMAZING improvements, the surgery has left her with facial paralysis on her right side, complete hearing loss in her right ear, vision impairment in her right eye and constant dizziness and migraine-like headaches in her incisional area a majority of the time.  It is to the point that, when she feels the worst, it is often hard for her to walk, shower & even care for our kids due to all that she is dealing with. If that's not enough, the 2 day surgery & pain medicine took a major toll on her liver causing it some significant problems.  We are now finding out that this may also be affecting other areas of her body such as her lower abdomen and even her feet, which her neurologist is currently testing her for a possible nerve damage disease known as Neuropathy.

As a father and a husband, I am committed to taking care of my family and doing all that I can to provide for every need that they have.  That is why I am reaching out to all of you: my friends and family, to let you know that we have a real serious need and we are humbly asking for your help. Thank you so much for anything that you can do! We APPRECIATE your support. God Bless!
