Angela's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Who knew that your world could completely turn upside down in an instant. Tragedy strikes left and right every single day, but no one ever thinks it will happen to them.
Angela was found unconscious on Monday October 2nd, 2017. Her husband, Mike came home from work to find her unresponsive in her bed. It is unknown how long she had been unconscious or what caused this, but it is believed to be caused by a combination of incompatible medicines prescribed by her doctor. Her blood pressure was so low that her organs didn't get enough blood to function properly. Her kidneys and liver stopped working, and she suffered an anoxic brain injury due to lack of oxygen. She was taken to the hospital and was intubated. She was taken off the ventilator on Friday October 6th. She is improving every day, but her short term memory is not intact. Only time will tell how much memory she will recover, but she is strong and we are hopeful. There is a possibility of full recovery, so we are praying. She is cleared to leave the hospital as of Tuesday October 10th, but she will need cognitive rehabilitation for an unknown period of time.
Angela has been a nurse since 1986. She still works as a nurse here in the Fredericksburg area, but she is technically a per diem nurse, so she may not receive any benefits such as short term disability. We are unsure how long Angela will be out of work, but there are plenty of bills that will be left unpaid, as well as hospital bills that insurance will not cover while she is working on her cognitive function.
Angela is the most kind hearted person we know. She is an amazing mother, wife, grandma, daughter and friend to people who could not picture their lives without her. She is the most compassionate and supportive person and is always there for anyone who is in need of anything. She will do whatever she can to make sure that everyone feels loved and supported regardless of what she has going on in her life. She is now facing a time where she has to rely on others.
We hope that you may find it in your heart to help us through this difficult time, and every little bit is appreciated.
Please feel free to ask any questions if you're interested in how she's doing! Thank you so much for taking the time to check in.
