Hello,
As many of you know, the aftermath of Hurricane Maria has left Americans in a dire situation. Puerto Rico is currently 100% without power and most of the residents are without running water. My family is one of those people directly affected.
This fund is for my grandmother Angela (aka Abu) and my relatives who live in Cabo Rojo, PR. Cabo Rojo is a small coastal town on the SW part of the island and many of the roads there are obstructed. Supermarkets have started opening their doors, but businesses are only accepting cash. Abu is bedridden due to many medical problems and requires 24 hour care. The PR family members who help cover the cost for her caregivers are unable to make payments due to the crisis they are also facing. Many people will be out of work indefinitely and essential costs will be hard to cover.
All donations here will go toward the care of Abu. Anything extra will go toward purchasing supplies like water, generators, gas, batteries, food and anything necessary to get her and the rest of my family in Puerto Rico through this difficult time. There are many people in need right now, so if you prefer to give to an organization please do so! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
