On Wednesday September 13th my mother headed over to her Primary care provider (doctor) because she had been experiencing an off and on again headache which stemmed from the Saturday prior. She was suddenly admitted to the Emergency room for Intercranial bleeding or bleeding on her brain which was revealed after getting a CT scan.  That next morning she had an angiogram done to look at the veins and arteries inside of her brain which revealed my mother was born with a congenital malformation of a vein & artery in her brain called an arteriovenous malformation and it lead to two seperate aneurysms. The malformation is almost a tangled up ball of artery and vein sitting on the right side of her brain to be descriptive. The doctor who needed to perform the immediate surgery to intervene and stop the bleeding told us that the surgery is so risky due to the risk of hemorrorhage and also because the brain is such a delicate organ. He also said my mother could lose some brain function affecting her motor skills. She did survive the first portion of her surgery Thursday, but this is simply a bandaid to get her through to the craniotomy surgery or radiation treatments she needs in about 2 weeks if she can survive. We are so thankful for everyone prayers that have been going up for my mother.
