Angel Gowns of Alaska is a local nonprofit that provides burial gowns to hospitals and funeral homes across the state of Alaska; for babies that never get to leave the hospital. Angels born sleeping.
Hundreds of gracious women have donated their wedding dresses, and several women have volunteered their time sewing these gowns, to support this beautiful cause. Every gown is placed into a memorial box (as shown in the photo provided), along with a teddy bear and a locket containing a piece of the same wedding dress used to create that special gown.
This weekend, Angel Gowns of Alaska will have 115 gowns ready to go to various hospitals all over Alaska but we are short on supplies needed to complete the memorial boxes containing the gowns and we are asking for your help.
Each memorial box costs $12.04 to create - using the items shown in the photos provided (this is not including the cost of ribbon, adhesive, and sympathy cards included in every box).
I have set the goal at $2,500 so that we are able to get these 115 memorial boxes (which were made from just 7 wedding dresses!) packaged and sent; while still having supplies for the next 4 wedding dresses expected to be completed shortly!
It is our hope that this package will bring some small measure of comfort to these families in their time of sorrow.
Some have asked for a mailing address to send checks to - thank you!!
