"In the last 2 years I have lost so much...my left eye, teeth, school, work and most recently my mother has passed.
I need to escape my current conditions, find treatment for my injuries and start a new life...I am struggling with the after effects of being attacked by my exboyfriend as he attempted to kill me after leaving him after 7 years of a abusive relationship. In this horrible attack my friend visiting was also brutally beaten and sent him to the hospital with broken bones and brain trauma. Our lives will never be the same. Sadly the police have yet to capture him...Police in Brasil do not work the same way as in other countries we are beside ourselves with the lack of local and federal help to catch this criminal.
I was attacked with a metal crowbar, when he beat my face he caused irreversible damage. I did not die, but have spent much time trying to recuperate with little to no money. I lost many of my teeth and have many surgeries to correct the bone structure, install implants and reconstruct my eye socket as I have lost my eye and still require ongoing occular surgery to accommodate a prosthetic eye. All of which is hard to pay for as I cannot work right now.
My local family and family in Canada has flown to Brasil to help me with this and they have paid for so much but have cannot do much more. I still need a new eye, more surgery and havent even started rehab or counselling for this event. I would not wish this on my worst enemy...it is nightmare just surviving this all.
My life has been destroyed by this monster and my wish now is to recover to the point that I can come live happily, finish my school and work in a safe country. However I do not have the money to pay the doctors to repair the damage to my face...I am depressed, sad, heart broken, lost, alone and feeling ashamed to ask, but I need to...can you help me?
I have tried to determine the amount already spent and the on-going cost to complete this process, pay the doctors, hospitals, therapists, medicines, prosthetics and other professionals but realisticly the cost will be much more...I have lost so much but I am hoping for and greatful for any assistance you can give. Please help me move forward from this nightmare and start a new life with less pain and hope for a future.
I am a real person, a woman that was once beautiful and happy, I'd like to be that again.
