Andy's Heart Surgery Recovery

After a major heart attack on 21st April this year, I had emergency surgery that evening that saved my life. Within a week I had also had 5 arterial bypasses in my heart and a diaphramatic hernia surgery as well.
Several weeks after the surgeries, I still have 2 large open wounds in my chest and abdomen due to complications arising from my diabetes and a nasty post surgery infection, as well as some residual fluid in my right lung.
My left arm, where they took the arterial grafts, is still pretty useless, although the 12 inch long wound is healing nicely, it's going to need some serious physio to get it back into a fully useable state - and I'm left handed.
I am still not allowed to drive at this time.
Although the heart surgery appears to have been successful, last week my doctors told me that this will not be a quick recovery and that I will not be able to return to work for several more months. I still need to undertake rehab and physio programs, but these can't start yet until the wounds are closed over and fully healed.
Jenelle and I are both very grateful for all the care and support being offered to us by those living close and able to - eg; with meals and cleaning and transport.
This latest news has affected us quite dramatically, as we were hoping I would be able to return to work fairly soon as mine is the only income. We are getting a Sickness Allowance, but even with being very careful, the normal household expenses continue and are honestly getting beyond us. We also have the medical bills, regular parking at the hospital, my medications, tests & specialists etc. and these are all now really adding up as well.
It is very embarrassing, but we are now struggling and really need financial help.
