Andy Johnson Medical

This fundraiser is on behalf of Andy Johnson and his wife Bethany Sias-Johnson. I am Bethany’s sister, Michelle Zahn, and all money raised from this fundraiser will go directly to an account that Andy and Bethany to share to help offset the expenses required by his medical condition.

Prayers and support: Andy lost feeling in his hands and feet Sunday and has been is in the hospital paralyzed from the neck down and doctors are worried he might need to go on a ventilator. They are needing assistance with medical bills, wheelchair, vehicle that is wheelchair accessible, ramp for house etc. He is the sole provider for their home and is not eligible for disability. Prayers and support would be greatly appreciated for the family.

8/11-12

Update: Thank you for all for the continued prayers and support please continue to pray for Andy and Bethany and the family. The Doctors have warned them that the worst was yet to come within the next 2 weeks (as is the normal course during guillain barre). But they have said they can feel the prayers. Previously every time the doctors came in to examine him he was loosing more and more functions and currently this has plateaued. Keep on praying.

8/14 They put a halt on the transfer to Courage Kenny for now. The doctors now say he needs more physical therapy prior to transferring to that wing. 

He is having severe neurological pain (which is a pain that does not respond to the usual pain killers). As the nerves “wake up” they often fire shooting pains into the affected extremities. Please continue to pray for both Andy and the family.

8/15-16

They said Andy is going to be moved to the inpatient rehab hospital today! Yay! I’m really hoping that because he will be in rehab 3 hours a day all that movement will help with the pain. They are looking at him being there for 3 weeks.

Praise report:Thank you for generous giving the Go Fund Me page has raised over $10,000 for the Johnson’s.It is both humbling and wonderful and faith building to see the love of God at work.Thank you all for your generous giving and continue praying for complete healing.

8/18 Update: With PT Andy could sit on the edge of the bed by himself for 10 min. Which is great because strength is returning to his core.

8/19-20

Big praise report he’s now able to move his arms to adjust his glasses and can somewhat navigate his hands.

8/22

Update: With physical therapy Andy is giving it 110% 

He said he now has some tingling in his thighs!

This is great because the nerves are starting to fire.

9/1 Praise update: Andy is working with physical therapy extensively he has enough arm strength back to use his arms on the parallel bars to make walking motions with his legs now.
