Andy Hall Rebuild

Hello Friends and School Alums,
I recently had the opportunity to visit with my old friend Andy Hall on a trip through California. Many, if not most of you, know Andy from Brophy, Gonzaga, or both. After Andy left Gonzaga in ’71, he got his degree in architecture from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. He married Kathy, they had 4 kids, got them through school etc. After a series of jobs with other firms specializing in architecture around wineries, Andy and Scott Bartley formed their own firm in Santa Rosa in 1983 (http://www.hallandbartley.com) with an emphasis on architectural continuity and functional efficiency for the winemaking industry.
The firm hit some hard times during the Recession and Andy & Scott had a difficult few years, resulting in some financial losses and set backs. At the same time, Andy & Kathy took guardianship of two of their grandchildren, and are raising them now.
I tell this story because I’m sure you’ve all heard of the terrible wildfires in California. They have been devastating to thousands of people. Among those people is the Hall family. Andy & Scott’s business was totally destroyed in the Tubbs’ Fire on Monday Oct. 9th. The office bldg., CAD machines, computers, plans, documents etc. that were the business were totally lost in flames. Everything gone just like that. Thankfully they did not lose their home.
Because of our very recent (Oct 5) visit with Andy & Kathy, I have taken it upon myself to try and help. I am organizing a crowd funding site on GoFundMe to collect something to send their way. I don’t think any of us can imagine waking up one morning and having your whole life’s work GONE in an instant. Money won’t replace it, but it can be the basis for a new start, to get their business going again with new office facilities, computers, drafting equipment, etc.
If you remember Andy, or even if you don’t, and would like to help him and his family, please give what you can via this site. I know it will be gratefully accepted and could help them on the road to recovery. Any amount will help. We'll be giving Andy a direct link to the funds so he can get them and use them to restart his business.
