Andy ‘Batman’ Angel final wishes

On April 1st 2017 Andy was diagnosed terminal cancer, he was fighting a battle that couldn’t be won and was given days to live, the nurses and drs were amazed when he walked out of the hospital 2 weeks later on Good Friday.
Andy set goals and met each of those with making it to xmas and New Year being a faraway wish in those early days.
Andy struggled valiantly through course after course of tough chemo, with lots of illness weaved in. Many weeks were spent in the Cancer Unit having treatment over the 10 months. Each visit resulted in some laughter and joy though as we rallied together to keep positive, his smile and infectious personality made him a much loved character in the Unit with all the staff.
Things took a turn for the worst in January when he was diagnosed with osteoporosis, unfortunately he then became unable to walk unaided and ended up in St David’s Hospice where he could the get 24hr care and attention that he needed at that stage.
It was here that he passed away, peacefully.
The donations on will be split between both The Cancer Unit at Glan Clwyd and St David’s Hospice in Llandudno.
Without both of these places and the amazing staff Andy would never have made it as long as he did, so this will be our way of saying thank you and giving a little something back......
If I could raise enough money through this to fund both units getting a new syringe driver I would be ecstatic, it’s a huge ask though.
Each driver costs £1200 + and to maintain it for a year costs £300 + so if I could contribute in some way to that I would be more than happy. Andy had to have a syringe driver which administered constant pain relief, it was unpleasant but necessary. He even learnt to sew, so that he could make the bags to hold the drivers. X
