Andy & Cathy Immel Fire Relief Fund

Donation protected
My parents, Andy & Cathy Immel, had lived in their home in Boulder Creek for 42 years. It is in this home that they raised their 4 children, and hosted countless gatherings with family, friends and neighbors. It was a truly special home, property and piece of land that was loved by anyone who visited-- nestled in beautiful redwood forest behind Big Basin State Park!

On August 20, 2020 they lost their beloved home in the CZU Lightning Complex Fire that blazed through Santa Cruz County. A brave neighbor who stayed behind said the fire came up from behind their home like a demon-- taking not only my parents home, but my brother's family home next door as well. Two homes taken from our family in just a matter of minutes.

If you'd like to see footage of my dad and brother Luke on the news the day after the fire, check it out here on  ABC7 News Bay Area .

The Immels would appreciate donations in any amount as they make their difficult first steps moving forward, and in hopes to rebuild. Anyone who knows my parents know how much they love their Boulder Creek neighbors & community, so any excess funds will be donated to Boulder Creek Fire Department (whose team has worked tirelessly on the front lines) as well as Valley Churches United Missions (a local non-profit that provides assistance to low-income residents in San Lorenzo Valley and is an organization Andy & Cathy have been involved with for many years).

Thank you so much for your support-- not only financially but in all the messages, and phone calls. The outpouring of love has been overwhelming, and yet so welcomed. We feel your love! It is a testament to my parents, as well as their cherished mountain home.

Thank you again, and we send our love and support to ALL families affected by the fires.

Cover photo was taken by Luke on August 21, 2020. Andy stands at where the front door used to be, looking at where our home stood just a day before.

This is before the fires, taken in July 2020 when my brother Jeremy visited during COVID so they took a socially-distanced photo in front of the house!

This photo is from sometime in the 80's when their home looked more like the rustic mountain cabin when they first moved in!

Before the fire: Their luscious garden, overflowing the veggies and flowers-- and a chicken coop with 5 gals in the back just out of view. Cathy's family signs "Lucca Ravioli" welcomed you into the garden space.
